Correspondence Learning

Correspondence courses are the oldest form of distance learning, predating the Internet. Students in correspondence courses work independently. Students enrolled in correspondence courses receive instructions on how to access reading and writing assignment (exam). Students submit assignments, that professor’s grade by email, fax or postal service.

Online Learning

Online courses use the Internet in one-way transmission to deliver content. Students take online quizzes and exams on their own or under the supervision of a proctor depending on state. The courses may also have time stamped material that the students must view. Not all states except online learning.
